I was laid off early, July 11, 2008 from my job as Corporate Training Manager.  It was laughably (or not) the same day that I was to receive my planed/scheduled review, bonus and increase.  I did all of the things that those of us in HR know to do at a new job.  I asked for periodic input from my boss on the job that I was doing.  I self checked against the shaky job description I'd been given.  I had no idea that it was coming.  I had been told just a week earlier to "self evaluate" in preparation for my review.  I had also just completed a road trip training other managers on the proper procedures in conducting their employee reviews.  Instead of good news at best or constructive criticism at worse, I was told that my position had been "dissolved" in part because senior management couldn't make up their minds on what it was exactly that they wanted from me.  Fast forward 5 months later and I am a single mother without a job still.
