A MUST HAVE for anyone wanting to PHR certify. I borrowed these from my HR Manager, studied them for about 4 weeks, then took and passed the PHR exam with flying colors. Don't even take the PHR exam without studying these, and I wouldn't recommend buying them unless you have cash to burn, or unless your company will buy them for your HR team. Otherwise, join your local SHRM chapter and see if you can borrow them from a local HR Professional, even if their version is a few years old. Just make sure to give them back after you are done!!!

This is an excellent resource. I bought myself and this was an advantage becuase I was able to make my own notes in the books. They are very well written, easy to follow layout, and have frequent progress check lists. The accompanying CD is an excellent resource with quizzes and tests that are similar in style to the actual exam.

This was what my university had as the study guide for the PHR exam. I found the information very helpful and useful! I was surprised at a lot of it (not having a lot of upfront knowledge). I will turn to it time and again during my HR career.
