Getting ahead in a difficult profession requires avid faith in yourself. That is why some people with mediocre talent, but with great inner drive, go much further than people with vastly superior talent

Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life. Remember that fear always lurks behind perfectionism. Confronting your fears and allowing yourself the right to be human can, paradoxically, make yourself a happier and more productive person.

Importance of Attitude
There was a man who made his living selling balloons at a fair. He had balloons of many different colors, including red, yellow, blue and green. Whenever business was slow, he would release a helium-filled balloon into the air. When the children saw the balloon go up, they all wanted one. They would come up to him, buy a balloon and his sales would go up. All day, he continued to release a balloon whenever the sales slowed down. One day, the balloon man felt someone tugging at his jacket. He turned around and a little boy asked, “If you release a black balloon, would that also fly? “ Moved by the boy’s concern, the man replied gently, “Son, it is not the color of the balloon; it is what’s inside that makes it go up”.
The same principle applies to our lives: It’s what’s inside that count. And what’s inside of us that makes us go up is our attitude. William James of Harvard University said that, “The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.”

Memorial Day is May 25th. Here is a poem honoring this impending National Holiday...
In 1915, Moina Michael penned a poem ("We Shall Keep the Faith") honoring the fallen soldiers remembered on Memorial Day:
"And now the Torch and Poppy red
We wear in honour of our dead.
Fear not that ye have died for naught;
We'll teach the lesson that ye wrought
In Flanders Fields."

For tough times some inspiration - Churchill 1941 - Harrow School - Supposedly Speaking on Success
As the story goes... the school members were sitting in anxious anticipation... there is a great sense of awe and drama as Churchill strolls in... he approaches the center of the stage... removes his bowler hat... props his cane against the lectern... pauses.... gazes for some time at the hushed assembly... and finally says...
"Never give in. [pauses] Never give in. [pauses] Never, never, never — on nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in, except to the convictions of your own honor and good sense."
He then replaces his hat... picks up his cane and leaves the stage!
Credited as one of his shortest and perhaps one of most his powerful speeches... apt for now perhaps
