About Me
My name is Derik Mocke. I like to describe myself as an energetic, purpose driven, educated, present moment, emotionally aware, fun loving professional life coach, group coach, motivator, father, husband marathon runner and editor of www.sustainable-employee-motivation.com My life purpose is to help people, groups and companies to find their energy and zest for life. I am married to Carin since 1989 and we have two children, Janine (19) and Erik (15). Professionally... I obtained my Bachelor degree at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa…yes I am South African. My experience in people development started in 1993 at a national training center for adventure based experiential facilitators. I’ve spent a year in the United Kingdom in 1997, where I’ve worked with Vision Development Training in facilitating team development programs for various European companies. In 1998 I helped launch the Team and Leadership Development Center in Pretoria, where I facilitated people development programs which included leadership, team building, and emotional intelligence. During my time there I co-facilitated with more than 30 different facilitators from various backgrounds. In 2002, I’ve helped launch the renowned Pecos River training brand in South Africa and set up the change division within Aon Consulting. I am currently working as a coach to help individuals, teams and companies with motivation. I believe that change and growth is a constant process that happens over time. I get a kick out of helping individuals, teams and companies achieve just that. Although I am South African, I have helped companies in Africa, the Middle East, India and the UK with employee motivation. Personally... I believe that every event in life is an opportunity for growth. I’ve spent the last 10 years living that philosophy. In 1998, I’ve started road running. Since then I have completed over 40 marathons. As a couple, me and Carin overcame all the usual obstacles of 19 years of marriage by discovering and re-discovering exciting things in each other on a continual basis. I believe that all people have the wisdom, courage, creativity and energy to take on any challenge that is holding them back in reaching their true potential. Well, there you have it.     A man saw a small & poor boy looking at his beautifull and expensive car, he offered boy to take him for a drive. After the the drive the boy said your car is so marvellous it might be so expensive! how much does it cost? Man: Idon't know my brother has gifted it to me. Boy: wow so nice of him. Man: i know what you are thinking ... You also want to have a brother like him. Boy: NO, I WANT TO BE A BROTHER LIKE HIM.
